Mason Dixon TnT November 7
To celebrate my 52nd birthday this Friday, I'm going to do TnT on Saturday and then eat BBQ at Famous Dave's in Frederick afterwards. Trying to get my boys come and watch, or at the very least, meet me at Famous Daves.
Your all welcome to drop by for both the racing or indulge in the BBQ...
John

Re: Mason Dixon TnT November 7
Happy BDay! I wish I could go but I need to figure out what's going on with my tranny or clutch before I race again. Working on 60fts was fun last weekend but I'd rather be able to get all the way down the track on clean shifts! Car just doesn't want to go into 2nd or 4th at high rpms.
I hope yall have fun though!

Think you're getting some flex in the chassis? That may be one reason you're not getting into gear at high rpms...

that or check the stops on your shifter they may have backed out.

Not sure about the flex of the chassis. How would I fix that on a regular street car anyway? I have subframe connectors welded in.

I'm not using the shift stops on my shifter. My tranny is the Tremec 3650 and they say not to use the stops with it.

Oh, a more solid motor mount (not sure if you're using factory mounts), k-member braces, etc. Not sure what's available for the New Edges but I suspect these types of things are available.
I assume normal driving yields normal shifting?

Re: Mason Dixon TnT November 7
Normal driving is fine. When the rpms get up over 5k, shifting into 2nd and 4th are tough. 3rd is too but its easier to force in b/c it's a push shift instead of pull like 2nd and 4th. When the rpms are above 5k and I go to shift, it's like the shifter hits a wall until the rpms come down. Then it slides right into gear.
I haven't really pinpointed an exact rpm but since it only does it while racing, it's only when I wind the car out close to redline. Normal spirited driving, I never wind it out as far.
