Where did my thread go?

This forum has gotten out of hand. If the admin is going to remove a thread, at least have the common courtesy to notify the O/P about it. Removing it w/o any reason is NOT the way to go about it!!! There were others that posted in that thread that feel the same way.

If you all want to run a Nazi camp, then I don't want to be a part of it.

B, my apologies to u, I deleted the thread last after Glenn posted some stuff with numerous words he stated were in violation of the forum rules. I know there is a big reef between him and others right now and I wish evryone would give Ed a chance to address it with him instead of the rest of the members getting worked up about what a few disagree about.

My apology again, but there is no reason for a few to jeopadize this site because differences in opinions, thx, and I hope everyone can get back to just having a fun forum to BS on : )

Juan, just consider this: how can we debate this if there isn't free expression? Nothing personal, believe me, nothing at all. But now YOU are making decisions about what can and can't be posted. If language is in violation, then edit the post. But not the thread. See the point? Remember why this forum was developed in the first place...this just isn't about Ed and Glenn...

This seems more like a dictatorship to me. If ONE person is going to be allowed to run this site, and members must bow down to their Nazi rules, they can enjoy it alone. This forum is made up of a lot of different ppl. Different opinions and different beliefs. That being said, I think it should be put to a vote to what the members want, w/i reason of course. Not that of one person. As you can see by the posts of those that have already commented, they're not to happy as well.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this forum and the members in it. I have a great time at meets and get togethers. But this problem is going to quickly destroy this forum. We are all adults, we need to be treated as such. After all, there are only a handful of US on this site that are active and keeping it going as it is. If the admin wants to jeopardize that, then keep moving in the current direction. I def won't be a part of it as I'm sure others feel the same.

The fact my last thread was removed proves my point. Why would the admin of this board NOT want to hear ppl's opinions on what's happening. If it is due to the resistance of one, they should step down and bow out.

I trust this thread will NOT get deleted as other members should be able to post their views as well.

I totally understand, and agree with you Bernie. However The admin's have the right to delete threads, posts as they/we try to stick to the current rules. Until the rules change, and the bickering is over, I think we need to keep a close watch as admins on what is being posted.

Maybe in the future we should edit the post instead of deleting the entire thread.

This crap is tearing some of the fun out of the group, and is ignorance at its best. Forcing people like this is just going to make people go the other way.

hey Guy's, I agree with you TOTALLY.
Please dont come down on Juan, I haven't had a chance to get on until today, but Juan called me and told me what was going on, and I am taking care of it now, Juan took down the post because he doesn't want us to get shut down, we have someone trying to get us shut down at this point, please dont guess or accuse anyone of being the one that is doing this, I have it in hand and will have it resolved soon, as for the Any thing goes area, please read this post to get a better understanding of why it was done Anything Goes Deletion.
There will not be any more deletions of threads on the the forum, there was to be a vote on the anything goes thread but it was headed of by someone who didn't like the thread, I greatly reget this as it is against the very reason we started this forum/club for, this will be resolved shortly and we will get back to what we are about.
But please read the post in the link above and you should understand why this has become a problem, Bernie, John, I totally agree with you, Juan was trying to protect us from what seems to be a disgruntled members attempt at getting our forum deleted, it will be unsuccessful, but just bear with us while we get this worked out, I promises that one person will not bring our whole club down.
You all know I believe in the club being run buy the majority, and will do everything in my power to keep it that way.

I agree with Bernie and John......this is a club that is run by it's members!! and of course there are rules, but honestly it seems these rules are waaaay too strict and being thrown at us when certain individuals feel like we as a group or individual are "crossing" the line. we are all adults here, as we stated before, and can handle a slap on the wrist if we screw up.......but once said and done, MOVE ON, and let us continue our fun!! there is no need to keep rolling down the dictatorship road and force us to be robots. this forum is about cars, fun, and good/close friends........if we can't be ourselves and express our views and opinions then i defnitely will take myself else where......

after reading some of the history, it appears that the forum hosting site may be the problem. That we CAN'T ignore. If that's the case, there are plenty of cheap sites available, and I would be happy to pay for the first year if that's what it takes to get us somewhere where we can be, well, us...

Thanks Ed, there are no hard feeling towards Juan what so ever. I just think there are proper ways to go about thing and that wasn't one of them. I understand that this is a new issue and sometimes admin are not sure what to do about it. However, deleting threads is not one of those.

I gotta run, but real quick, the hosting site appears to have rules and limitations for use, which includes (loosely defined) some language and "porn". Both are widely open to interpretation nowadays, given what's seen in this country at prime time. Things change.

I really hadn't been involved in the anything goes thread - and it's only cause I didn't care. I mean if one wants to go there fine, but there is an option to not go there. Either way w/e.

This other issue that's been raised, I've only been talking to bernie about it. My first reaction was who cares, so what if it's been removed blah blah blah...I personally didn't care. Bernie brought up a few great points that this website was put together becuase of these same issues that was going on someplace else.

I personally didn't care nor saw it a big a deal that a thread was deleted...but Bernie thought that it would have been nice to be told about it via pm...which is the only thing I do agree with. However as Mods/admins they do have a job in keeping this place run the right way...now I know all of us have our own ideas on what the right way is, but that's why they are admins/mods and we aren't. After all, if you didn't really like it here...go start your own damn forum......

I love the way this place is....majority rules and it's about what the members want!!! All the folks that bernie and I've met from here are great and I wouldn't want it any other way.
