Just food for thought Empty Just food for thought

Post by Big Blue Sun Dec 09, 2007 5:49 pm

A friend, and some of you will know who that is, said this, and I asked if I could use it on our forum,
He said it would be fine, so I am posting it up to remind us, of what we are about and how what we say can Influence others opinions of our club.

"Looking at Webster’s definition if the word ‘contagious’ I found that one of the listed meanings
of this adjective is “tending to spread from person to person”. Did you notice that when you first
heard the word ‘contagious’, it immediately had a negative connotation? We have been so preconditioned
with this word that we don’t immediately see that it has positive points, too – as in
“contagious laughter”.
This scenario can be related to the information we share with each other. Information,
feedback, comments and verbalized opinions travel fast within our social group, and much like the
rotten apple in a bushel basket theory, a single negatively-charged individual can impact the group
more than you might suspect."

I just thought it made sense and I wanted to put it up, thanks for taking a moment to read it,

Contagious is a good point to re-visit. I enjoy funny stuff because it can spread. I like to smile because it is also a contagious event and even when things are in the shitter a smile can lighten up folks.

Be well all ROTFL
