I guess Will is a foxbody guy too. Anyway, I just emailed a guy about a foxbody thats for sale over in Silver Spring, MD. Depending on if its still availabe and his respone I might go look at it this weekend. Either of you guys mind checking it out with me if I do in fact go look at it? Nothing is set it stone yet. Its an 88 5.0 hatch, blue and silver, 89k original miles.

Thanks Juan, funny thing is i almost bought a foxbody last year about this same time but it sold before i got to it. This is the only pic i've seen of it so far. Just got an email back from the guy, its still available. Now i gotta do some negotiating. Stay tuned...

Other than the regular drivetrain checking...

1. Check Torque Boxes for tears
2. take a tape measure and measure the squareness fo the front clip.
3. Check for bubbles in the paint around the rear fender lips.

Those arethe main problem areas I can think off hand when looking at a fox.

I saw that on CL i think.

-The hood will not pass inspection, but if you go with the historic tags you dont have to worry about it.
-Check for rust under the hatch and bottoms of the doors
-Make sure there are no wrinkles in the fender aprons indicating a frontal collision
-Mileage may be hard to prove, as they only had five character odometers.

Car looked pretty clean, i like that color...same as my old 88 GT.

Be aware it will need a mass air conversion if;
-you plan on modding it
-it hasnt been done already


I wouldnt mind going, but Bernie is probably closer.

There have been some real clean fox verts on CL for sale, at real good prices. Verts are probably the cheapest Fox to buy, since they are in lower demand than the hardtop cars.

umm whats a torque box? not a fan of verts but i have notice they are cheaper

The points on the body where the upper and lower control arms bolt up. They are prone to tearing when launched even mildly with a somewhat sticky tire.
