Re: April Cruise Poll
25 miles on that road would take about how long? If it doesnt work for a camp-meet I def am doing the skyline thing this year, need to know how far down I'll go, depends on the slower MPH on those curving roads.....

Re: April Cruise Poll
I drove that section last fall with fellow NVMCers. I'd say with stopping for pics and what not, it could take 1.5-2 hours. The speed limit is 30 and it's a nice relaxing scenic drive. Once we get this set, I can post up on the NVMC site as I'm sure there will be some takers Last fall I'd say there were at least a dozen Stangs. The cruise Todd and I were on earlier in the year there, we had 24 Stangs going through there on the lower section.

25 miles on the drive takes about an hour if u dont stop much or any - would agree at least 1.5 hrs ....the rangers are hard on the speed limit up there...sometimes u can slip away with a little speed .... but i wouldnt push it too much ....
the next exit is midway at rt 33....it is 63 miles down drive....
Re: April Cruise Poll

Re: April Cruise Poll
So mileage shouldnt be a factor. For the bitches that dont want to drive, they can wait for another cruise... we do a couple a month. However this one we ARE going to VA, so plan for miles to be put on your stangs. It will be an ALL day event for sure, that will most likely spill into the night.
I think if skyline is a 30mph route we should consider other options. However I personally dont it to be ALL highway either.
Nate you need to take the reigns or someone in VA that knows the routes. I would take charge however I would have to ask you or someone else in VA for advise on routes anyways.
1. decide the date
2. decide the route
3. decide the places to stop - food - camera shots
4. make it happen...

Re: April Cruise Poll
Over towards Skyline Drive, The Northern Neck, up near Winchester or Leesburg should make for some nice cruising. All of those areas have decent less traveled roads with beautiful scenery and could last for over 100 miles round trip. For me, about the only weekend I'll have to cruise will be Easter weekend. Depending on the route, I could do what Juan did for the D.C. cruise and do some quick travel/pic research for you guys If it's nice one day next week, I hope to get the car cleaned up and head out for some pics. I could kill two birds with one stone of need be!
Skyline Drive:
Route 66 west to Route 55 to Front Royal
Route 340 to Skyline Drive entrance to Route 211 exit
Northern Neck:
Depending on where you were coming from you can either take 95 south or 301 south and get have a meeting spot in Port Royal where Route 17 south and 301 south meet.
Route 17 south to Route 33 east (Saluda) to Route 3 towards Kilmarnock. I've never been, but within a handful of miles from the Route 33 to 3 turn, Stingray Point on the Bay.
Route 3 to Route 200 north to Burgess.
Route 360 west to Callao
Route 202 to Route 3 just outside Montross
Route 3 back to either Route 301 or 95
Winchester:
This could be Todd's area of expertise as he lives not far from there.
Leesburg:
Route 15 near Leesburg is nice, but it's only 2 lanes and if they're doing construction or if you get stuck behind some slow pokes
We can get here by either taking Route 15 south from Frederick or Route 7 west from the Beltway
