That would be, Texting While Driving, which Maryland is trying to make illegal.

So, does this mean I will still be able send and read email while driving with no legal ramifications?

The last thing you want people to know is that you were not paying full attention to driving due to texting. I have heard of records from the service provider being used in court. This will always hurt you if not in the criminal trial it will surely get you in the civil court which in my opinion is really were it can hit home......Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

In DC u get tagged for the "Distracted Driver" or "Cell Phone"....not good, they will getya if ya werent paying attention

Yeah, i know in DC, but its illegal to talk on the cell phone unless hands free. They arent talking about that in Md (as far as i know) just texting. I see more people on the phone, in the fast lane, going well below the speed limit, not paying attention to their surroundings, etc than i do with people texting, but thats not a problem?

I mean they barely make people turn on their headlights when driving in the rain or snow with your wipers on. I wanna see how they gonna enforce this. What if youre dialing a number or dialing 911?
