First Annual Summer Jam Mustang Shootout
Making a post for a buddy who's not a member (yet). Several of the people here already know him quite well. He goes by Spaz
Anyway, here's the post...
Street Jam Racing is pleased to announce the First Annual
Summer Jam Mustang Shootout at Old Dominion Speedway (ODS) in Manassas,
Virginia, on Saturday, July 25, 2009. “ODS” provides an easily
accessed facility in Northern Virginia, complete with concessions, sponsor
space, and nearby hotels.
The event will feature any Ford Mustang with a Ford power
plant. There will be six index, side-by-side race classes for naturally
aspirated cars, and six additional classes for cars using power adders.
The facility will manage a Sportsman ladder and racers will face a .5 Full
Tree, half second indexes, and no breakout rules in effect. The overall
emphasis is on street cars you can live with and drive every day, so all cars
must be tagged and registered, and cannot be gutted. Winners in each
class will receive trophies.
Pricing:
Participant Entry = $35 pre-paid (credit or debit) / $45 at the gates (Cash
Only)
Spectators = $5 at the gate (cash
only)
Children 11 and Younger = $FREE
Preregister at http://s197-mustang.com/ODSEvent/
Questions and comments can be posted in the event thread at http://www.s197-mustang.com/forum/

Re: First Annual Summer Jam Mustang Shootout
Cool, do you know if they have a sixer category, I'm just curios, I'll race any way
Re: First Annual Summer Jam Mustang Shootout
Well, congrats to Kool Dawg he's the champ of his class, well done John, post up a pic of that that HUGE trophy, as far as myself, well I got to go over to the Mustang collective and find out what excuses they are using for not showing up, when there was supposed to be several V6's from there coming, I was the only one, so my class wound up being me and a V8, and he didn't get away from Blue until 1/2 track, so I'm pretty proud of my little 6er, but alas, no trophy.
But we had a great time.
There doing a larger event at Rockingham in the fall, and John and I are planning to go, so no Mustang Week, No CJ's that week, so come on you racers, let's go to the Rock and bring home some Trophy's.

Re: First Annual Summer Jam Mustang Shootout
What a great day despite a low turnout (11 cars)! My class did have the most cars in it (4). It was the 8.5-9.0 sec class (1/8th mile). Nothing great for April (she usually runs 8.2-8.4 with the MTs), but given that she now has a trunk full of stereo equiptment and was running the huge 29.2" street tires, I was rather impressed! The tires provided good traction as they spun very little off the line and chirped 2nd, but the height and weight don't make low ETs possible. First round of eliminations, I had no problem taking down my opponent! The second and final round however... Too bad he red lighted! I was glad he kept in the gas and ran me until the end!
Here is the time slip and a few pics (thanks Ed for these) of my winning pass (none with the trophy...yet)
Here was my quickest run of the day during Test & Tune

Here are pics of Ed at the track.
Now some Ed pics while cruising to lunch and dinner. Glad he stuck around after the race as he was able to attend a dinner meeting with some of the gang from the NVMC

Re: First Annual Summer Jam Mustang Shootout
Glad you guys had fun. It was a blast haging out for the rest of the day. With Lindsay being so ill lately, it was nice to see my wife laughing for a change too. That was one heck of a "paper wad" war you guys had going. LOL
