Honoring a Fallen Soldier
Honoring a Fallen Soldier...
What a great tribute,
Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.
Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Let it be known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely. If you are short on time, it is mile after mile of patriotic, flag waving, hand over their heart Americans.

Re: Honoring a Fallen Soldier
This is a 10 minute video, BUT WELL WORTH THE TIME TO SEE IT! I cried my eyes out while watching it. This is how it should always be! For those that understand may we never forget, and those that support us we thank you. Remind yourself every night as you lay your head down that there are those that are still fighting for our FREEDOM!

Re: Honoring a Fallen Soldier
Andrews is where I would look first. Most of the time they are flying in to the local airports(BWI/Dulles). When I was at Dulles a couple months back, there was a huge battalion coming in. It was awesome to see ALL those people waiting on them!

Re: Honoring a Fallen Soldier
I used to work in Base Ops at Andrews, up until about 2mo ago, and i'm good friends still with the people over there. If you'd like me to try to find out any info on arrivals, etc, let me know and i'll see what i can do.

Re: Honoring a Fallen Soldier
Juan, here is the info i just got...
" I would imagine public affairs (301-981-4424) would be in the know as far as when they will be doing this again. There are other private organizations like Purple Heart that do come out to Andrews and local airports to greet returning troops. Closest PH chapter (353) is in Arlington VA. Their contact is Stephen Cobb 703-998-8744 scobb177@aol.com. Hope this helps. "
