S197 Shootout/Ford Grudge Match Racing, Charlotte NC, Nov 1
On November 1 the S197 Racing shootout will be held at Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina. While trophies will given to registered racers driving S197 Mustangs, any Ford can participate in grudge matches or just run your own Test and Tune all day. This is going to be a fun, out of town weekend for participants.
I want to challenge the Northern Virginia Mustang Club and Mustang Collective and show that MPSF can send at least 8 cars to the event. Let's start getting a head count of interested drivers, pre-registered drivers and registered drivers. It's only $55 to register, and we're finding a good number of inexpensive hotels.
For general info, see http://www.s197-mustang.com for an explanation of what the concept is. See http://www.s197-mustang.com/general_rules.htm for specifics on the trophy class rules.
In the next thread response, I'd like to start a running head count of interested racers, as well as preregistered and registered racers. You can preregister here http://www.s197-mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4 or send me a PM with your name, screen name, vehicle year and model, number of spectators or crew in your party, desired class entry if S197 OR grudge match or Test and Tune if other Ford model, and any significant performance mods to your car. If you'd like to register, please go here then let me know: http://www.s197-mustang.com/registration.htm .
This will be a killer race event for everyone that comes, with some big name Mustang race cars and drivers, plus others. Thanks for your interest.

I could be around for this event but it is a little far in advance to tell for sure. What is the deadline to register?

No deadline, We just need a number of espected racers so we can plan for the event. You could signup as RSVP, or as interested
We will be accepting people at the gate on race day. Hope to see you there, would love to see your ride run..
Thanks

Hey everyone, just a quick heads-up... The Street Jam Racing Series “2009 East Coast S197 Shootout” host by Five Guys Racing is just 3 weeks away!
If you haven't registered yet, check out the registration thread listed below.
http://www.s197-mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4
If you would like to pre-pay as well, this will help you save a few dollars and get you all of your paperwork prior to the event. You can pre-pay at the link below.
http://www.s197-mustang.com/registration.htm
We are really excited! This event will be incredible. Between our awesome sponsors, Mustang Enthusiast Magazine, and our friends at 1320 photography, we are going to have the track all day and have a lot of fun.
Don't forget, this is going to be the ONLY event we have that is non-points based. Keep an eye on our site after this event and through the winter months, as we will be announcing or event line-up for next year to include the venues, the points system, series registration information, and the all important Heads-up Racing Classes and rules.
Unlike 2009, all 2010 events will be based on vehicle modification classes and true, full blown, first guy across the line wins, heads-up racing. However, something that will not change is our dedication to you, the people and the cars. This series will continue to be operated at a zero profit margin and focus on "Street Driven" cars for the average Joe.
We are doing this for you, and we can't do it without you. So, check us out on-line, and see you November 1st at Rockingham Dragway!

Re: S197 Shootout/Ford Grudge Match Racing, Charlotte NC, Nov 1
Yeahhhhhh, it got rained out, a major bummer, but we did have a good number of cars show up. That's a good vote of confidence. We got time runs in during the Saturday night TestNTune (Laura got a personal best out of it) but the weather just turned for the worse and the owner of the track didn't think he could keep it dry long enough for Sunday or Monday.
