I'm still alive
Hey everybody, sorry i haven't been posting up lately. As some of you know i rear-ended someone a week ago and messed my front end all up. It was about 6k worth of damage to my car and maybe a new bumper and some work under it to the woman i hit. So anyway car should be good as new in another week or so and i am fine and the person i hit is fine so all is good. I dont have any pics to show though. Just figured i'd let you all know im alive and well....well kinda.
Btw the rental i got is a chevy hhr. But it was either that or a hyundai sonata.

Good to know you are well.
Are you making any mods to your front end? I put on my Roush front after I smashed my stock bumper.

Recycle bin tips over and leaves a small indent in the quarter panel. Yes, they are very touchy and sensitive..

Re: I'm still alive
That sounds pretty high unless you got a good deal of frame damage and/or mechanical damage. You sure it's in your best interest to fix it? I know it is hard, but it may be best to take the pay out and get another one. Not having any pictures to look at makes it hard to tell, but it's something to think about.
I crushed my whole rear quarter panel, including the inside of the trunk, rear bumper, the front fender and the front headlight including bumper and it came out to be around $8-9k total damage.. no mechanical damage though..

I have a custom dual exhaust kit with slp loudmouths.
I have no idea how it was that much in damage. I needed a new hood, bumper, radiator, headlights, hood latch, bumper supports, and i think im missing something else.
BTW Chris im sorry if my setup has me at 225 rwhp with a better tuner.
Re: I'm still alive
did you lose any power when switching to true duals due to a loss in backpressure? that's my biggest worry. i'm probably not gonna go with slp loudmouths... i have two gt takeoff mufflers already, and most likely going to do those.DarkNightV6 wrote:Cdude2010 wrote:

Oh ok, it's not that bad then. As for why $6k, it's pretty high. I know the stock hood itself is expensive, that could be why it bumped the cost up but everything else shouldn't cost *that* much. BTW.. you should think about an aftermarket hood. If I had the chance, I would of put on a cervini's concept hood.. but really, this is your chance to swap out parts if it floats your boat. I'm really glad I listened to other people's recommendation and went with an aftermarket front fascias.

Glad you're ok, Alex, but geeze, your car is taking a beating the past few months!!!!!
What hood??? A Mustang hood??? If so, that is not even close to true! When my car was wrecked and needed a new hood, it was $849 through Ford.chrisverneuil wrote:stock hood is 1300

Re: I'm still alive
Maybe for a "replacement" hood? I thought OEM hoods were around $1300 also.

Re: I'm still alive
Don't do it yet, I lost more then a second of my 1/4 mile when I put on the short headers X pipe and true dual, and I kept the cats, I still think its in the tuning and I think I'm almost there with it, I will let you know how it comes out, Alex really dosnt know, because I think he got the duals rite offCdude2010 wrote:chrisverneuil wrote:that had crap. Re: I'm still alive
Also take into consideration paint and shop charges in that estimate. Shops get primo $$$'s for ins. work.
Glad your ok buddy. What made you hit her in the first place?
