Hvac knob? Empty Hvac knob?

Post by RTW0223 Wed Sep 29, 2010 8:12 pm

I need the part that opens and closes the heater core which allows the user to determine how much hot air is pushed out, i think... The one that connects to the knob where you adjust from cool to hot (usually a blue line transitioning into a red one) I need the line that connects to the arm on the heater core assembly (the arm that opens/closes the box) and to the knob.

sorry for the confusing explanation

are you talking about the cable?? or the control panel??? I bought a complete box a year ago with all the cables attached to it so I may have what you need, just unclear exactly what it is you're trying to describe??

ok so... when you turn the knob, shouldnt there be a cable that opens and close the vent where the heater core is?

yeah and the when you turn the knob it spins the gears and pulls the copper cord which is then attached to an arm on the heater core assembly and opens that

yeah ha, there was just a knob. And seeing that i replaced my heater core... I had to ziptie the lever open last winter. And i cut the ziptie for the summer because the heat constantly was on. So i figured it would be easier to turn a knob Razz
