Guess what i got?
I went Saturday morning and picked myself up a gt500 suspension. Shocks/struts, springs, upper and lower control arms, panhard bar, and front and rear sway bar.

Re: Guess what i got?
dont put the spirngs on. Ask ed ur front will be a few more inchs higher than stock. And James the suspension will probly not make him go anyfaster. If anything ur stock suspension is helping better because of the worn out struts and shocks.

Chris, its the UCA/LCA's that make a big difference for traction
good traction = good times

Thanks for the idea. Anyone know how hard it is to put on control arms?
Re: Guess what i got?
bout 30 min job. for LCA's UCA is kinda a bitch, have to lower gas tank to get the UCA up in there and removce the back seat to get to the bolt head. UCa is about an hour, if its your first time

Re: Guess what i got?
I wonder if there is a difference in the V6 and GT500 UCA? i'll just wait and get everything done together.
Re: Guess what i got?
Don't think there is any differnce. The zaks gt500 uca was the same stamped.steel piece my gt had. Most likely yours is the same. Really not worth doing the upper.unless you replace the mount and if the uca is adjustable.

No crap. From what i can remember the GT500 crap is the same as the gt which i think is the same as the v6. There all stamped steel POS. Id save up and get some nice crap. With heim joints in them vs rubber OEM crap.

Re: Guess what i got?
Well all I really needed was shocks/struts. The sway bars were the bonus. Only 8k on the parts and paid 200 for them all
Re: Guess what i got?
Alex if I was you I'd keep the front stock springs, so it doesnt put your car into 4x4 mode

Re: Guess what i got?
Yup, don't put the 500 front springs on, it will look like a Gasser, and the Strut tower brace will not fit, the V6 engine sets to high for it, I put the Steeda brace on, and I love it.
Re: Guess what i got?
Hey, Alex, I have a set of lowering springs you can have (1.75 F/1.5 R drop).
+ million not to install those front springs! They are for the much heavier S/C 5.4! Also save up for another brand of CAs!
However...$200 for shocks/struts and sway bars is awesome!
Is the panhard bar a factory non adjustable piece? If so, that can be trashed as well as it won't work too well on a lowered car depending on drop...

Re: Guess what i got?
Get both. Adjustable all around if you can. BMR seems to be very reputable. Now before you get them you need to decide one of two things. All out drag or handling. They dont make UCA or LCA that do both you need to decide if you rather out handle someone or get them in the 1/4. And being drag you will have worse handling as they arnt meant to move around as musch and will bind on you in corners. My .02

Re: Guess what i got?
Your regular adjustable CAs will work for either twisties or drag... It just depends on how you have them adjusted and heim joints will be better for the more rugged use, but they also make some really good bushings that will withstand some heavy use. The parts that really get into all out drag or twisty use will be your springs/shocks/struts/swaybars! As far as getting what adjustable and what fixed... Seems most people go the adj upper as it is just a single adjustment and done, however it is a lengthier process of install and adjusting. Adj lowers are a lot easier to install, but adjusting them could be tedious to get them exactly the same on both sides. I went with the fixed lowers and will be getting the adj upper...sometime...chrisverneuil wrote:Get both. Adjustable all around if you can. BMR seems to be very reputable.
