Tint Problem...
OK so my tint is gonna have to come off.... Yesterday a State Trooper(new chevy caprice) pulled up right behind me pulled me over and issued a repair order for my tint. He said 35% is the limit and I have 20% but I already knew that. I have had 20% or less on all my cars and have never been pulled over for tint. I not gonna lie he was dick and I am not just saying that because I got pulled for it. Anyway enough of a rant. Anyone have any options for me? Any connections at inspection stations so I don't have to pull it off?(PM me if you don't want them displayed) Any heart warming thoughts? THANKS!

If you have the contact info that would be great. I dropped a lot of money on this job and I am not sure I want to do that again after this but I will see what they offer. I am also gonna call Bob and see what Mercy is gonna charge. Thanks guys!

Re: Tint Problem...
There is no way around a tint ticket legally. You'll have to remove it to have it signed off on by an inspector, or have it certified by the state boys at the dmv.

Re: Tint Problem...
where did you get the 10 day thing? It should state on the sero how long you have to comply. On Md's website it states 30 days. I was a Md state inspector for 25 years up until 2 years ago. So unless something has changed, it should still be the same.rgoddard wrote:Sunday they got me on 70 at the 40 split

Re: Tint Problem...
Really? Must have been an eager trooper because I see more peps down here in the woods (Southern Maryland) with black tint and the man never stops them. I have a fox and my tint is sark and hopefully I won't ever get hasseled for having it like that.rgoddard wrote:Sunday they got me on 70 at the 40 split

Yeah I have never heard of anyone with the problem and Since I could drive I have had 20% or less. I was pretty shocked because a Howard County Cop had just passed me too and he didn't stop me either lol.

Re: Tint Problem...
Well it was a State Trooper, shouldn't be all that surprising.

I went to school with the C.O.O. Time Cooke
They do great work, not sure about pricing though. Check out their site and some of the vehicles they do... Ferrari, Lambo, Tesla, Benz, BMW, Audi, etc. etc.

They're in Eldersburg, so not too far from you.

Thats actually who I used before. Cost me almost a grand for ceramic in all the windows(including windshield). I loved the work they did but I am not sure I am ready to shell out that kind of money again. Still if they work up a deal or something I might but I will probably go with Mercy as long as the quality of the film is good.

Re: Tint Problem...
Dont know about the web site, but I had a chicken crap Tunnel cop break off a radar setup just to chase me down and give me a ticket for my tint "Sir in MD its e legal to have your windows tinted darker then BLA BLA BLA" as if I didn't know, and I had 10 days as well to get it inspected and take the signed of ticket to the MSP at the MVA, oh and the State boys wont do the inspections anymore, you have to take it to an inspection station.Big-B wrote:where did you get the 10 day thing? Re: Tint Problem...
This was a good re-read as yesterday I am eating and I see a county sheriff pull up in a Charger that has tint so damn dark you can't see in and I thought....ya know the system sure is upside down when the man can have his tint on a county vehicle that dark. But then again they don't seem to hassel anyone because how can a judge be impartial when the law is doing it as well? I guess above PG county things change up because of the local police, sheriff and MSP.

Re: Tint Problem...
The police are only allowed to have dark tint for k-9 and medical reasons. I have my vehicles tinted darker than legal for medical reasons. I actually have a tint restriction on my licence that says I have to have tint. Didnt know they could do that till I got the letter from Mva. Maybe because I have a CDL and a light problem with my eyes? Not sure but it does make a night and day difference.

I'd like to say you are right however down here in the country things might be different than up north in the populated areas. I get the badge thing although being in the community light being the proper example does eliminate the splitting hairs of right and wrong. I am referring to our officers and not your specific comments.
