Ok, so I don’t know if I will ever (or should) get my STOCK sixxer on the track but thought it would be nice to get schooled on what to do after seeing how much fun it is at MIR...

So here is what I have gathered from some previous post, please correct/assist the DUMMIE : (

- street tires, stay out of water box and no burn-out
- Rev up to approx 1500 rpms
- Go on last yellow (does that mean as soon as it lights up, I believe I saw something saying w/street tires you won’t red-light)
-Shifting, 1st then go up all the way to fourth??
- At what rpm should you shift? Do you watch gauges vs going on sound/feel?

Lastly, try not to look embarrassed running a 16 plus run.....

-street tires i avoided thewater/burnout box.
-as soon as the last yellow lites up...GO! (whether its easing it off or dumping it)
-i revved to 3K and let it loose at half throttle...walking it off the line til i was sure i could stiomp the gas w/o spinning.
-used 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and fourth....revving to 5K and shifting to keep me in the powerband. think reddline is like 5500 or 5750....peak HP i believe is at 5250 for me with peak torque at 4K area.

(what id did for my first time)

If you're unable to avoid the water box, drive completely through slowly until you get passed it. Then spin your tires for a few seconds to help get the access water off.
Leaving on the last yellow will help you get the best reaction time, but isn't a must. Your E.T. will not start until you brake the staging beam, not when the light turns green. If it is heads up racing then it will matter as the first car to the line(barring a redlight foul)wins. I have no idea about the V6s powerband and/or shift points?????
Don't be worried too much about embarassing yourself! I sure did a good job my first time down the track last year Razz Being the first time I've dragged an automatic, after doing my burnout, I left the car in first gear and it wasn't until a couple hundred feet down track I was reminded of it...here is the video proof. By all means laugh away as I sure did and still chuckle about it today Laughing
