Mod $$$ need opinions?????
OK so I think I am def in the minority around here by running a stock Pony. You mod freaks are making me itch....
I am thinking of opening the purse a bit and getting something for the car?? Even tough I am expecting to pay the Tax-man, I am still hopeful I can get a little mod $$$ outta Momma : )
The question is which car and what item, Here is were the MPSF familia comes in with the “I know u have it” opinions……
For the 07:
Lowering springs: How will the look for the sixxer be on my stock 17” rims? Do I need additional items to do it correctly or springs alone for a DD will do?
(believe these are Eibachs)
Cervini Chin Spoiler: What do u think of the look for the sixxer? Black, to match the rocker panels?
Quarter window louvers: Love the look but have gone back and forth because I also like the clean look.
For the 66:
Wheels: I have thought about going with Bullets, either my 17’s and get new ones for the ’07, used ones and keep Bullets on both or go old school ??
I guess I am looking at the $300 range for the 07 options but the wheels may take that up a bit if I go that route, have seen Bullets at great prices, unsure if I could find a deal on the old-school ones…..
What to u guys think……..

well the lowering kit would do nothing but help the appearance stock rims or not...but depending on the drop distance u might need and adj. panhard bar 2 recenter the axle on the car... im not crazy about that chin...thats just my opinion...its def old school but i like others way better...and for the louvers my fav are the roush racing 1/4 louvers...
my fav chin might be...

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
that chin wont work on his car, its the cdc aggressive chin for a GT. i like the fang chin spoiler for the v6 and lowering springs would help alot. most people running a 1.5in drop or less dont need the adj panhard.

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
In the pic you posted, it looks like those would be the Eibach Sportlines. They drop the front 1.6" and the rear 2.0". The ProKit drops it 1.3" and 1.4" rear. With the Sportlines, you'd at least need camber bolts ($30) to align the front. Drops over 1.5" might require an adjustable panhard bar ($130). All Stangs are different as some require slight adjustment in stock trim and some don't require adjustment after lowering.
The Fang chin spoiler looks good.
The Roush louvers look good as I was contemplating them for my car until I saw the SHR flush mounts. Of course labor rates or self install time make the Roush louvers much more practical, but the flush mounts do allow for the "clean" look.

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
I see G is the only one giving the 66 some love, would love new wheels for her, we'll have to see....
Def like the look with springs, for a DD in DC they would be ok? How much pizza/beer will it take to get an install day at Juans
Whats your opinion on a chin spoiler if I DONT lower the ride?

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
Not sure about the newer bodys, but you may need caster camber plates and an alignment for the drop. It's a must on fox bodies to keep from wearing tires.ndnboy wrote:Thanks Nate, I'll let u know if CDC will work, their V6 chin is def not themost agres one out there, I too like the Fang, couldnt find my pic of it....

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
camber plates shoulndt be necessary but an alignment would probably be wise. You cant go wrong with a chin spoiler imo

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
If the drop is 1.5" or less you might be able to get away with just camber bolts. I needed every bit of the cc plates as the front of mine was dropped 1.75". After a few days of normal driving, I'd get an alignment done.

Re: Mod $$$ need opinions?????
cool, thanks, Ive stayed away from thinking of a drop bcause I thought why mess with my DD's handling in the DC streets, once they and bolts are on and if it needs align, thats all, nothing else to maintain?
I like the car looks now, thought I was good but with all the MOD freaks in here (and everywhere) u just have to say WTF lets do something.....
We will have to see......
