well im having a problem with my stock gauge cluster when i have my headlights on for longer than 15 min the gauges go out and i dont know why? any ideas????? 40218

Have you wired anything in recently that may cause this. It sounds like something is getting hot and tripping a breaker.

Crown Vics are notorious for that problem..except headlights go out..prolly the same thing..headlight switch

Could be the dimmer switch. It's separate from the headlight switch

You can check it by using a digital volt/ohm meter.Make sure you have good 12 volts going into the switch.If so, turn the switch on/ off and check voltage at the other side.It should increase and decrease as you move the
switch. Also check connections going into back of switch..could even be a broken or loose connection/.

i wil check it out but the dealer installed a switch that lets me alternate between my stock foglights and the lower roush ones could that be the problem

HELL YEAH..ESPECIALLY IF THEY WERE INSTALLED AT THE DEALERSHIP..ITS ON THEM..MAY HAVE NOT CONNECTED THEM CORRECTLY

after doing some research i found out that i have a Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator Switch but everyone that has a problem with it says the gauges go haywire and give bad readings but mine are still reading right they just go dark

ok its official the lights for the gauges are completely gone im pretty sure its dead im gonna drop the car off at the dealer on monday afternoon and see what happens
