You can get a tune online through any performance shop that has sct software.

Im not for sure about the downloading process but you could probably call SCT. As far as the internet tune, JPC may have SCT software, JDM, BAMA chips may have it, Brenspeed. Those companies may have SCT software but i'm not for sure. You can just google them and look on there website.

So you bought just a plain unprogrammed tuner? Just order up a mail order tune from one or more of the above mentioned places and they should be able to link you to the website for "Live Load" which will transfer the files to the hand held. I don't know what all is compatible for MAC however... Kind of a PITA, but somebody with Windows could do it for you. Don't really need to mess with file transfers that often...

With SCT "canned tunes" or custom loaded tunes (SCT software tuner, not SCT itself)? I've never heard of having to plug a custom tuned hand held up to a comp for an update???

I'm not sure about SCT but I had to plug my Diablo tuner into the computer to get the new update for it.

Let me rephrase that. I didn't have to update it but it was available so I did. They could all be a little different though.

my advice would be take it to a tuner who is skilled in sct tuning, excessive motorsport in manassas, va has a in house dynojet and is a level 4 sct tuning facility.

Excessive (Chris) in Manassas, is a great shop. I haven't gotten a dyno tune ($300) from him...yet, but have had my car on the dyno there and seen many others as well. They've also done my gears and midpipe swap back in early '07, so I've had great success with them, BUT it is a long haul from North Beach! I'm sure there are many who wouldn't mind walking you through the tune loading process! If you feel unsure, I'd definitely wait...
