Re: Weight saving.
the whole kit ? you'd save alot of weight but not worth the investment imo unless you are building a race car that isnt street legal

Re: Weight saving.
Why wouldnt that be street legal? You can cut out the places for the headlights.

Re: Weight saving.
Because even the skins of doors are made to crumple and take energy.
A few Maryland Laws that many people dont know of. Most of these laws are in all states.
•Addition of non-standard lighting (neon lights, under-vehicle lights),
•Alteration or removal of air pollution and emissions control device
•Modification of vehicle ground clearance ("lowered" or "raised" vehicles),
•Removal of mufflers and other sound-control devices, and
•Window tinting (especially tinting of windshield or driver/front passenger side windows).
•Removal of ANY factory saftey equipment, including airbags, restraints, and structural pieces.
Mind you that most police will only look at tinting and lighting...

Re: Weight saving.
If you want to lighten your car up, remove the rear seat that is about 40-60 lbs, remove spare tire from trunk 20+ pounds.
But that kit is great if you're a professional drag racer.
