Problems with 2010 Mustang GT
I have a 2010 Mustang GT and am having issues shifting into first and reverse.
1. Engaging from a stop into first or reverse is very hard to do.
2. As I try to enter first gear the car will start to “rock or creep” forward while trying to enter the gear (with the clutch in, the clutch is not engaged).
3. Once in first gear on flat ground the car will creep forward slowly if I take my foot off the brake (the clutch pedal is up and the clutch is not engaged). I have not tried with reverse yet. When I take it out of gear and let my foot off the brake the car does not move.
4. When shifting into second sometimes the car will grind, even if the clutch is pushed in and not engaged.
5. Once the car is rolling shifting 2nd – 5th gear is like butter.
6. When the car is off all gears shift perfectly.
It seems the clutch is not fully disengaging making shifts harder while at a stop.
The problem has been getting worse.
Is this a syncro problem or do you think this is a hydraulic system problem? Or a clutch cable problem with the clutch not fully disengaging.

Re: Problems with 2010 Mustang GT
sounds like a problem with your clutch man. had an integra do the same thing intermittently. also had a hydraulic clutch. i'd press in the clutch pedal while in gear come to a stop light and it would start bucking trying to keep moving but it would eventually stall. almost sounds like your clutch isnt disengaging. take it to Ford and hear what they say. hope you get it fixed soon good weather isnt that far away!!

Yeah I am bringing it in tomorrow to ford. Thats what I was thinking that the clutch wasn't releasing all the way. How would they fix that? adjust a cable or is there more to it?

Re: Problems with 2010 Mustang GT
i dont think that car has a clutch cable if its hydraulic system. could be a malfunction of one of the components of the hydraulic system ( slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder etc.) may want to take a look at the fluid level at the clutch master cylinder . or worst case could be an issue with the clutch assembly itself. Either way Ford will take good care of the problem.

I'm going to Ocean City on Friday... do you think this is a problem they will be able to fix in a couple hours or days? Lets see it is a hydraulic system failure

probably in a couple hours but who knows whats really wrong with it. they may have to order parts and your car could end up staying there.

Re: Problems with 2010 Mustang GT
I'm ok with it staying there over night between thursday and friday... i just need it friday... By the way I edited my post to have the 6 symtoms that I have diagnoised... I basically have come up with the clutch is not fully disengaging even with the pedal all the way. I think there is an issue with the fluid and hydralic system. We will see tomorrow. If anyone else has any ideas please help me out
