500 min 1000of is kinda overkill but will work great.
A small amp is always a good idea if the head unit can not match the speaker output

They are good speakers

I love the JL Audio Digitial amps that I put in the car on my JL audio 10's. I used two 500/1 for each sub woofer and they are small enough in size they will not take up a lot of room. Very easy install.
