Door Empty Door

Post by GobigorGohome01 Sun Sep 19, 2010 11:14 pm

My driver side door does not close, unless i lift it up a little bit and slam it. My one friend told me i need new pins and i looked at CJ's website and noticed they sell pins by themselves and pins with bushings. Now which one should i buy or could it be something else?

Pins usually fix the issue unless its worn into the hinge.

any auto parts store will have the pins, get bushings too just in case, if you don't need them now you will in the future.

you need the pin / bushing kit, the many I have done always wear the brass bushing out, brass is softer than steel and wears first. Smile

this is true... and if it gets real bad it will elongate the hinge holes and you will need to have either a new hinge installed or as I did, weld it up and drill it. Sometimes you will need a new striker plate or adjust the striker to line up with your door after you put pins and bushings
