Facebook Virus

So you all told me I just got to be on facebook, so I join, and not 2 weeks later, this
ePlus {the computer company I work for} has been advised of a malicious email campaign currently in circulation that is ending emails from Facebook.com (subject lines may vary), which read:
“Hi, someone loves your photo comments, please click on the link to see all comments."
The link in these messages opens a page that prompts you to download and run an update from Facebook. Malicious software will be installed on your computer even if you take no action on this page. This software enables unsecured access to information on your PC.
Use caution when accessing email from personal accounts. To ensure the protection of the ePlus or your personal computing environment, do not open any email from an untrusted sender. If you have received any of these emails, immediately delete them from your In-box, Sent and Deleted Items boxes.

Sounds like phishing to me...
Your company domain was targeted, and the malicious "virus" adware is just masking the email domain as facebook. Not facebook itself.
facebook itself is fairly safe from viruses, UNLESS you click on someone post that has a link to a site that has viruses... which I dont click on links... but you can get that on any forum web bases site...
You can easily find this out by checking the email header...

Oh and that first post came right from our network security department, so I would be careful on Facebook, personally, it still boars me, I have better things to do, hell I don't have enough time to keep up with this thing LOL

I worked for 8 years doing intrusion defence for naval ships under enterasys dragon...
But what do I know
5 years on facebook and no computer virus...but I have got plenty other things...
