New CAI and tuner
I ordered the C&L intake and SCT III from Bama last night. It set me back a good amount, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it. I'll probably be running the 93 octane torque tune unless I need the Race tune for some reason. I also got the 87 octane for when I'm doing highway driving, hopefully it'll be a good choice. Apparently Bama's been swamped recently so it may be a week or so before I get my stuff, IF they have it in stock.

Re: New CAI and tuner
I think you will be happy with the results. I have the c & L and sct II and I was really happy with it. I got mine from brenspeed although I have heard many good things about those Bama tunes.

Re: New CAI and tuner
How do you like the C&L? I just ordered the JLT, still need the tune for it but hoping it runs about the same.
Re: New CAI and tuner
Runs great so far. I haven't had any codes or anything yet, so that's a good thing. The C&L is a VERY large intake compared to most of the ones I've seen. I don't know too much about the JLT but I'd assume it's along the same lines. Who's tuning for you?

Re: New CAI and tuner
My C&L intake/tune was a surprising kick in the pants with the tunes that came with the handheld. But it really came into its own after getting a custom dyno tune. Had mine since 2005 and haven't looked back!
Re: New CAI and tuner
I went with Bama Chips and the car flys! Got the 89 Torque on it now, and I chirp the tires through the whole power band. I have an automatic, and I think you'll be very happy with it!

Ok tune is in so im probably gonna hook the intake up in the morning if it came. I havent been home yet.
Re: New CAI and tuner
Ok. so i finally put in the CAI, but i ran into a problem. the filter sits a little too high and the hood pushes it down. Anyone have a jlt that had this problem?
Re: New CAI and tuner
Congrats own your mod Alex. Can you losen up the filter tube and push it down and tighten it again?

Re: New CAI and tuner
Thanks Paul. its the heat shield pulling it up. I'll post a pic up in the morning.
Re: New CAI and tuner
Is the heat shield plastic or metal? I think I might have a quick fix.

Re: New CAI and tuner
its plastic. since i dont have the ABS it uses a zip tie to hold it in place. You would have to look at it to really see what im talking about.
Re: New CAI and tuner
Whats going on this weekend, if not much, we can get together and take a look at it, have kind of a tech day, I got my breaks and the drilled and slotted rotors that I need to put on, what do you all think?
Re: New CAI and tuner
Got them on ebay, $350 including shipping 4 drilled and slotted rotors and 8 ceramic pads, 48000 miles, its time for breaks, I believe in taking care of it before it becomes an issue.
Now where can we meet to work on cars, my place is OK, but we will be working on a gravel lot, and thats just not nice for getting under a car.
Any suggestions?

Re: New CAI and tuner
I have no idea. Ok so here are the pics of the intake and where the problem lies.
Re: New CAI and tuner
What brand is that, the zip tie install really looks cheesy, we may have to modify it, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, in fact I'm sure we can make it look allot better as well.
By the way heres a link to the ebay search for breaks and rotors

Re: New CAI and tuner
Ok. That would be great. Maybe you guys could help me redo my wire covers as well. Do you know if the R1 concept rotors are any good?
