FP Gauge not working
I picked up a Fuel pressure gauge a while back and never hooked it up cause I guess I never really needed it and I didnt think it worked. When I had it hooked up It read 80 psi. Would this be a broken unit or sender Or am I forgetting to adjust something here?
I hookede up a fuel pressure reader (something you'd get from Advanced/Autozone) and it read 40 psi
Here are two pics for better referece. Its mechanical

Re: FP Gauge not working
have you hooked it up on the rail on the car?? you need to remove the valve core and in place of that there is a special adapter that screws on

Yes I hooked it up the the fuel rail
If by valve core you mean this:
Then yes.
I'm thinking the air was never fully bled..?

Re: FP Gauge not working
It's not an air bleed thing. Have you checked the pressure against another gauge? That would be the next step to see if the gauge is no good.

Not against another gauge but against one of these:

And that^^ read 40 psi

That was meant to be sarcasm. hard to convey through writing lol
Re: FP Gauge not working
LOL ok. Contact autometer, they may do something for you. Don't tell them you bought it used though. Just tell them it's been on the car and it failed. Worth a shot.
