New parts/front end
So last weekend when I was headed up to have my new gears installed I had hit a deer and am getting a partial front end. I'm debating right now between possibly getting a new intake manifold or throttle body for my car with what extra money I might have from the insurance check I had gotten. This was the damage.

Re: New parts/front end
Damn! I came pretty close the other day, I mean millimeters at 60mph.
On these cars, intake manifolds and throttle bodies yield minimal gains unless you have cams--you'll get something, it's just not the maximum bang for the buck. Laura's GT/CS pulled 315hp and 12.4 at the track with CAI, FRPP intake manifold, and Kooks headers and offroad pipe. My car, with TB, intake manifold and cams plus JBA headers and offroad pipe pulled 340hp on the same dyno, and an 11.89 in the quarter. If you had to pick one, I'd do the intake manifold and get it tuned well...

Re: New parts/front end
I'm planning on getting cams, forged bottom end and going with a procharger I'm just going slow due to cost of parts, labor on install, and the gains I will get from everything. I'm wanting to get used to everything fully before the next thing is put on.
Insurance was decent in time to get out to do the estimate and approve the repairs, so hopefully by next weekend or the week after

Re: New parts/front end
wow, took out your corner Nick...........just keep me posted on the gears....as for mods, both choices are fine to do, either way you look at it, they'll be used in the long run to compliment the complete list you've selected, while each of the mods alone won't yield the ole arse o-meter a huge noticable difference, they will work well with the complete list you have in store in the long run as stated.

Definitely a good place to start if you plan on dropping that kinda cash into the car later.

Re: New parts/front end
Thank you for the information. It did a number on the car, insurance quoted roughly 2,500 in parts. From what I was able to see new hood, fender, bumper, lights, and possibly core support. Funny enough alignment is ok, and the hood pins really held up nicely and did their job. Deer broke the ring holding the cable to the pin itself

Re: New parts/front end
Well IF everything goes smoothly I should hopefully have my car back together and in one piece friday. The body shop had somehow over looked the fact that the wiring harness for the headlights was crushed and needed to be replaced. I don't think I'll be using this shop again due to length of time between what should of been a simple repair and conversion from normal headlights to a set of retro fitted projector HID headlights

Re: New parts/front end
One big issue was the bulbs for the HID system were defective and when they got tested they axploded and hit my friend in the face so it took an extra week. I will have pictures posted up tonight as I just got the call that my car is ready for pick up

Re: New parts/front end
Thank you, it feels great to have my own car back again and just be able to drive it. Funny and sad thing is I almost forgot what my car sounded like and when I picked it up I felt like I forgot how to drive stick for a moment lol

Glad to see you got her back on the road. She looks great. You got some before accident and after accident pictures to compare or did you get all the same parts on her?

Re: New parts/front end
The only new part was the hood, all other parts are stock. I do have a set of projector HID headlights on their way from HIDGUY and once install I'll post up the pictures.

Re: New parts/front end
So was I, now gotta get a few of the shops mistakes fixed...just minor things, but still things I shouldn't have to fix. Such as the alignment of the hood pins is slightly off, and the side skirt is missing a couple of retaining pins, and windshield washer nozzles didn't get installed
