cam help
ok i have a 93 2.3 with a blown motor. i planed on doing a turbo build but time and money wont let that happen just yet. so i have a complete 85 notch with a 2.3 in it. and i am going tho swap entire motor and trans over to the 93. the cam in the 93 is a roller cam which i know is better but i also have a cam and lifters out of a 88 turbo coupe also. which one will be better. not looking for major hp, just a free mod since i got em laying around

Re: cam help
the turbo cam is probably designed to work well with the turbo. if you just slap a t-cam in a n/a engine it might do more harm them good or atleast sacrifice power in one rpm range or another.
putting a roller cam into a nonroller engine is also going to require a few modifications. not sure how it would work on a 2.3 but on 302's you have to do some drilling.
i'd just get a motor in there that runs good and build your bad ass turbo motor on the side

Re: cam help
The low overlap of a turbo cam is not a good solution for a NA head. Low overlap is necessary due to the high exhaust manifold back pressure but is overwise not a desireable feature in a NA or supercharged motor. Do you know the letter or PN of the cam.? Depending on what letter or PN you might have a higher overall lift on the cam but the overlap would still make it a less than optimal cam. Supercharger and NA cams work well on a turbo application, the opposite will rob power in a NA engine, in most cases. More overlap will help get rid of exhaust in the chamber, while less overlap will increase backpressure, which simulates load, on the engine, which in turn spools the turbo easier.
With that said, can you put the cams in there, and will it run... yes, is it optimal, not likely. Hope this explains it.

Re: cam help
it still had all the suspension and most of the engine, including the turbo. the interior was guttet and alot of things were pulled off the outside. definatly savable tho if you got the time and money. if i had a fox i would have loved to pull the 5 lug 4 wheel disc brakes
Re: cam help
man a SVO would be nice to have to have...
...do wheel stands and ask civic owners if their 4banger can do that ;)
