'99 Grille delete
On my 99 stang I want to remove that silly plastice honeycomb grille and let the "pony roam free." Everywhere I look the kits are about $70. Is there anywhere reasonable, or how can i do it myself, if there is a way??
Re: '99 Grille delete
I'm sure all they do is bend a braket in place drill 5 holes, two for mounting screws, one for the center pin on the horse and two more holes to mount the horse... seems fairly easy. Get a sheet of 16 guage metal (home depot), and cut it with either a cut off tool or sheers and then flatten it with a hammer. Measure your bends, and put it in a vise. Drill your holes, then use the hammer to creat your bends. Paint, and use your existing pony, and install...
havnt done one before, but thats the way I would do it...

Re: '99 Grille delete
I have the grille delete. I think I saw on some other forums of some people who did their own but I can't remember where. You can take a look at my pieces to get an idea of what Ford did to see about making your own. I also have an extra stock honeycombe grill that you can use if you want to try fabricating something.
