Website Look and Feel
Hey guys, maybe it's just me, but these old eyes just can't get used to the color theme and font selection that's the default for the website. While I manage web teams now, in the old days I actually used to develop and code them, so if we establish an IT committee I'd be happy to provide some help.
It's a great first start and gets the club off the ground though...no offense meant...

Im gonna try to make it saturday it looks like as of now I can and I was gonna ask everyone there feeling on this...I have a basic programming knowledge and I can write my fair share of html and css codes so Id be willing to help with a team

Re: Website Look and Feel
I will set the both of you up as administrators, oh ya, I’m insulted LOL, I just liked the font, but I thought it mite have to go, so if you would, try just changing the font and see if its any better, the colors are from the state flag, but if we have to change them, that’s ok also, but lets start with the font.
Justin is kind of our IT guy, possibly against his will, so if you guys could get with him and make up an IT team, that would be to cool.
I’m thrilled that everyone wants to help, this is great.
Thanks All, I couldn’t have done this alone.

There are lots of approaches to website development, but the key is to do some alternate themes, and let folks walk through and provide comments on what they like and what they dont. Other things are agreeing to content, subforums, etc. Even the simplest website can use some careful thought to be successful and encourage return visits. We can talk about this tomorrow afternoon.
Simple fonts work best for reading, and I thank you for making the change!

portal and forum poge
Should our portal page actualy be listed as our home page, since it has the hello message, as well as the index and such and the home page be listed as the forum page since it has the forum on it...?

Re: Website Look and Feel

I have trouble w/ some of the quote contrast colors. Other than that, I think it's fine.

Re: Website Look and Feel
Thats what we need to know, the IT team {Geek Stangs} I'm sure can fix it, thanks for the input, we're still tweeking it
Re: Website Look and Feel
Guys, the former editor and magazine writer in me couldn't take it any more, and I've been cleaning up some language on the portal side.
I've also been looking at some of the forum configuration components and some things are a little wack--I'm not sure how to fix them yet. I've seen some things not save even though they are checked, and some mouse over events hide text until you move the cursor away.
We should have much of this smoothed out in a few weeks.

Yeah like when I was putting in my B-day on my profile. You can't even see what you are tying to pick until after you pick it. It's kinda weird.PRO50SC wrote:I have trouble w/ some of the quote contrast colors. Other than that, I think it's fine.

Re: Website Look and Feel
I agree...I personally dont like all the bright colors. I can only spend a few minutes here before my eyes start getting fuzzy.
