Car shows and awards/trophies
When you enter a car show, do you display your trophies from previous shows with your Mustang?
I won something like 6 last year and never set any up at other shows. Carlisle was my first win this year, but there are many more shows to come this summer.
Just getting an idea of how others feel about it, post up your thoughts =)

Re: Car shows and awards/trophies
Personally, I'm not a fan of displaying past awards IF the car is being judged. It sort of screams "see, my car is worthy of another trophy" to me. At unjudged shows and cruises, I kind of like to see the award history since there is no pressure to vote. But that's just me. Do what makes you comfortable.

+1 to everything that John said. I think it is more appropriate to show them at non-judged shows. But do what you like chica! Obviously your car deserves it!Boss281 wrote:Personally, I'm not a fan of displaying past awards IF the car is being judged. It sort of screams "see, my car is worthy of another trophy" to me. By the way Tammy, that picture of your car in the signature is BADASS. That is one mean stance and I love the hood and bumper...

I never thought of it that way.. judged versus cruise-in, etc.
My thinking is.. if I put the trophies, why do I need another, and maybe I wont win. Probably silly to think that way LOL, but that's why Im getting other opinions.
My car is nice, but it has flaws. I never expect to win.. I like being surprised when I do ;)

Thanks so much
I love this picture.
Not everyone loves the stance.. LOL.. I still get told to lower it! It looks a lot better now with the deep dish on it than it did last year with the other wheels.
But, I do love the look of the wider tires on the back, and this pic shows it
Re: Car shows and awards/trophies
I do at most shows. Depending if the judges are scoring for presentation as well.
Re: Car shows and awards/trophies
I see alot of them displayed. I however have felt that when judging and seeing some cars with all the trophies and a sticker in the window with a very known club name that they went mostly undeserved. Especailly when there is a car right next to it that is cleaner, shows better and should win and dont. I hate the fact that clubs only vote there car and no one elses. When I do my judging these are the things that I look:
Is the Car clean inside and out?
Is there dirt and mud all over the tires and inner fenders?
Is there dirt on the floors inside?
Is there just to much bling that takes away from the actual beauty of the car?
What has the owner done to make me say WOW?
I really dont care that you belong to a mustang club? But that you can talk with others and share your mustang experience and knowledge without hating another. This is one of the biggest problems with entering at car shows. I love going to show and tell what I have done and have learned throughout the process. I also like meeting others with the same interest. I have started to really learn that if you dont win anything but a good conversation for the day than it was a good day. Not fair that the same car should win all the time if they dont put the same sweat and effort into it. Just my oppinion. I have been doing car shows for about 9 years now.

Re: Car shows and awards/trophies
^^^ thanks again guys. Your opinions and input are much appreciated.
Quite a few shows I won at last year were judged shows and even though I was only bringing home a 3rd, or a 5th in one instance, It was still a win for me and I was/am proud of my little Stang.
I still have that issue of the trophies. However, I think I'd rather appreciate the trophies at home... and at shows, if I win, it should be because I deserve it, not because "I've won before".

Re: Car shows and awards/trophies
Generally you should follow the rules established by the organization running the show. Mustang Club of America shows do not allow displays of trophies or signs. When the judges as working on your car they do no want to have to step around display items or trophies. However, if it is a participant vote or popular vote show it is perfectly fine to display sign boards and trophies to show how you have done in past shows. Just make it easy for spectators to get a good look at your hard work (the car) and not overwelmed by the number trophies standing in front of your car.
Just my opinion.
