It will fit in a Fox, Nate. Not sure how much fab work though... Years ago, a buddy of mine said a primer gray "four eye" GT came to their muffler shop and when they lifted the hood...they saw a 4v cobra (the '99-'00 N/A) motor sitting in there.
Less than $5000 sounds like a great deal if it's not hurt.
