uh oh, RUST!!
Starting to see some rust spots on my tailpipe. What is the best way to stop that spread of rust and is there any way to repair or do I have to replace? Axle backs have been lingering on my mind but I don't need to spend more money right now
This sure does give me a valid reason to though..

Re: uh oh, RUST!!
Sounds like you've been abusing your tailpipe!!!
Out not in!!!
If you have stock tailpipes a little bit of steel wool will clean the tips right up. Once you start you will have to clean it often.
You can put a coat of sealant like wax or clear rust inhibitor.

I'm probably gonna have to deal with what I have right now. I still have to do taxes and I'm sure I will owe Uncle Same a bit of $$. I want to put that money towards the wheels first. Thanks though.

Re: uh oh, RUST!!
Washed and cleaned the car today. Found a rust spot on my driver side mirror and paint chips galore. Someone put a nice chip in my passenger door. Am I the only one with all these problems on a DD?? I know it's not a show car, so it won't be perfect, but damn.

Re: uh oh, RUST!!
I use Eagle One Never Dull on the tail pipes/mufflers.
http://www.eagleone.com/pages/products/product.asp?itemid=1006&cat=5006
Mine is more than your average DD (30K miles/year) and I've got two paint chips on the hood all the way down to the white fiberglass (the VB part has been touched up already, but I need to get some Alloy touch up paint too).

Re: uh oh, RUST!!
I might have seen that at advance auto parts the other day. I'll have to pick up a jar.
What is a good way to clean out paint chips before applying touch up paint?
