Made Progress on the 5.0 Swap Today!
I finally got around to pulling the 5.0 from the Tbird and tearing it down. I've got it down to the short block and I'm going to crack into the bottom end tomorrow. I think I made pretty decent progress. Here's some pics!

Re: Made Progress on the 5.0 Swap Today!
Thanks for the support guys!
I got some more work done today, mostly on the heads! I got them cleaned up nicely and ready to install the new TFS valve springs.
I used a hydraulic clamp to remove the springs.
Then I tested my ability with a drill and sander!
Before...
After...
Then the heads went in the hot bath!
Then after cleaning the valves up, I put them back in with new seals. I got the 4 exhaust TFS valve springs on one head done before I had to stop work and start cleaning up.
Here's how they sit now behind a locked cage.
I'm going to continue working on them on Thusday since I'll be moving the stang body to the skill shop and prepping the chassis some more on Wednesday.

Re: Made Progress on the 5.0 Swap Today!
With the help of a friend, I got quite a bit more done today!
I took out the old cam, checked the cam bearings (they were fine), and put in the Comp XE270HR-12 cam.
I put new gaskets and seals throughout the short block including the water pump, oil pump, and crank seals.
I also got to cleaning on the short block and made sure there were no remaining fragments of the old gaskets.
I took the sander and drill to the pistons and cleaned up the cylinder walls also.

To be continued.... tomorrow! :D
