Racing at MIR, Sunday May 30 Test N Tune

Yeah, right in the middle of Memorial Day weekend, but we got a few folks going down. Thought we'd extend the invite. if weather forecast is bad, the alternate is Cecil County Dragway on Saturday.

We are having a Terminator shootout the 29th from 9am to 2pm. If you want you can come down and run in the brackets. Also you will get plenty of time to test and tune. Being as it is a track rental the price a little more but 40 dollars is not bad. Plus plenty fast cobra to watch. Feel free to stop by.

Wait, we can pay $40 and dial in the car all day long? how many cars you expecting? That might be a plan...

Well it is from 9am to 2pm and it is the MACA terminator cobra shootout. The thing is you don't have a cobra but that should not stop you from running in the brackets. And yeah my favorite part is we get track to our selves. Except this year we are sharing it kinda. Don't worry you won't be running in the shootout but you can run in the brackets thats your in.

So are you guys doing both sat and sun?

Laura and I are doing Sunday, especially with the weather throwing a wrench into racing this weekend. Not sure if we're going down Saturday night, or just cruising in the morning yet.

I was going to go down on Saturday for the shootout but it lookes like the r word may take over so I just me come down on Sunday and run a little after I get off work what time r u guys and gals heading down

I have nothing going on so I might just swing down to watch!

Laura and I are bagging Memorial Day Sunday racing. The original forecast was low 70s with low humidity, now it's sitting at 90 degrees and 80% humidity. Just not great conditions for achieiving a personal best. Unless we have freak weather over the summer, I doubt we'll be doing any more track time until late September--bring on the car shows and cruises. Plenty of time for me to dump some more weight (seats, front suspension) and replace the clutch since it's slipping and my 1-2 is about gone at higher rpms...

Also, the MACA Terminator Shootout has been rescheduled for Sunday.

Brian, that just sealed it for me. No way am I driving two hours for maybe 3 runs in that heat...

I hear ya. Im not a fan of their (MIR's) Test and Tune schedule. Sucks sitting around the pits for hours waiting to be called back to the lanes to make one pass, then sit for another hour or so. Never been very productive for me in terms of tuning.

Supposed to be a Friday night T&T this coming Friday, will have to see how the weather look, I'd like to get to the track.

You guys should just get in on track rentals. The one yesterday was nice. Only about 15 cars. And It was prepped nice.

Can't ever swing the Monday or Friday rentals unfortunately. This year there seem to be fewer than normal on the weekends. NVMC used to have them monthly Apr-Oct but lack of participation moved those to every other month.

I think our cool air racing is done with until fall anyhow.

I thought your were going to do some NMRA racing for SST? Your car is so consistant I can you winning a few races.

I have two problems: one is a new job that started Feb 1 that is eating me alive, leaving me little time for other pursuits, and I'm just short on money. Plus I need a new trailer.

Yeah, the irony is my consistency has never been better. I still have Charlotte on the books, assuming I can come up with the $$ for lodging and gas. Laura wants to race that one as well, and if we get eliminated early, may just head east for a few days at the beach. I have to borrow a trailer at this point.
