PA State Cruise...Sept. 19, 2010 Empty PA State Cruise...Sept. 19, 2010

Post by Croft Sat Jul 17, 2010 10:41 am

Hey guys,

Last year I put together a cruise in PA on MustangForums. I am doing it again this Fall and I am passing along the invitation to you all(My true family). Please come out and join me. I think it would be great to have you tag along.

Here is the info:

The route is set!!!!!!!!! This is a rough draft and if things need to be changed I will note them. This is to just give everyone an idea of what I am looking at. I am hoping to do a dry run before then.

If anyone has any suggestions and thinks I should make changes, especially those that live in the area and are familiar with the roads, please feel free to let me know. I am open to suggestions/changes.

DATE: September 19, 2010
TIME: 11:30am We will be departing at 12pm!!!!!

This gives us time to get together and look at the rides for a bit and have a meeting before we hit the road. I suggest bringing 2-way radios!!!!!

The end point is at an Olive Garden. It looks to be a huge shopping center with TONS of parking. For those that are not a fan of the Olive Garden, there are other venues in the same shopping center. PLEASE GIVE ME A HEAD COUNT WHO WILL BE EATING SO I CAN CALL AHEAD AND GIVE THEM NUMBERS!!!!!!

PLEASE do not feel obligated to stay and eat if you don't have time.

I hope we can get a good turnout. Let me know if you are able to join us so I can get a good head count.

THANK YOU!!!

That's a nice route, I live in Johnstown, not far at all, if you travel on the west side of 99, on RT 164 into Portage, it's really scenic with all the windmills you can see, and come right up on, also it's near Blue Knob.

Have fun, I'll try to make it, we get home from Corolla on the 18th, we'll see if I want to drive anymore after that, adventure with a 2 year old. If not have fun.

Oh yeah, the Mountain into Martinsburg from 26, ;p Have fun with that, the gas pedal is on the right!!

would have sooner just working my tail off.........$$$$$$ haha, bills suck.

But half of that route you have is the way I went home from last years cruise to Raystown. I think ya chose a nice area, lots of nice back roads, and Toona Town is a good place to stop and eat at the end.

Ok, folks!

I did a run of this route today. Let me tell you, this is going to be one fun ride! A ton of ups and downs, twisties and curvies, and a bunch of beautiful scenery. It took a little over 2 hours to make the entire loop, but I am guessing it will take us around 2 1/2 or 3 hours depending on how many folks we have with us and stops we make.

For those folks that went last year, we even pass by the Hoss Steak house we ate at last year. I thought that was too funny.

Anywho, I hope now that it is getting closer we can get those that were a maybe to be a definite. We are only a few weeks away. Hope to see you all there.
