4wd Mustang thoughts? Empty 4wd Mustang thoughts?

Post by BobT Fri Sep 17, 2010 3:31 pm

So, Heres my latest idea. I have a 96 V6 Mustang and a 86 Bronco with a 351 HO 4 brl carb. I measured the wheelbase. The Bronco is 105in. and the Mustang is 100in. The Borncos chassis is in great shape. The body in the back is shot. The back window was bronken about 5 years ago and the guy just drove it like that. It was cardboarded up but water still gets inside. My thoughts would be to scrap the Bronco body and put the Stangs body on the Broncos chassis. Has anyone ever seen one? Good idea? Bad idea? Or just plain bad to the bone? 4wd Mustang thoughts? 342455

I have seen everything from camaros to fieros put on 4x4 chassis... It can be done, just how you want it to turn out. Most of the guys who do this just square tube it until you get enough wheel well clearance. That way you really dont have to worry about wheel base. If your trying to run it on the road, there is a lot more massaging that needs to be done.
