I dont know, I didn't see anything that i could have hit in the road, but the valve stem was cut by something, I'd been driving for like 10 miles before it went flat, I tried to pump it up, but the air was coming out faster then it was a going in LOL.

The F'd up part of it was that I carry a plug kit and air pump, but cant do a damn thing about the valve stem, that's the 1st time that donuts been on the road, good thing for the air pump, cause it had 15 lbs of air in it, it calls for 60

Sounds like the valve stem must have been damaged somehow when installed and gave way finally. Better than sidewall damage!

Hopefully the tire wasn't damaged in the short drive before you knew it was flat! If that's the case, cheaper to replace the valve stem than the tire!

Hell I had the pretty chrome valve stems on my 93 and the chrome caps corroded to the threads! I hear ya on the spare. The first time I used mine, it was flat... Was messing with them trying to get them off and noticed the rubber was starting to look dry rotted and said screw it and got them replaced. I had one cursed tire (had a nail 2 months after I got them Dec '07, and a couple more issues over the couple years, hardly any miles) That was the only one that would come off to pump up with the little compressor I keep in the car, LOL! The tire got another nail or something... Finally I had to replace it when the place I goto showed me a bulge in the tread area where it was apparently starting to separate internally(know I knew where my noise/vibration was coming from)... FML. I think they have maybe 10k or so on them. Ordered a new tire from Tire Rack. I did these myself at my step brothers shop, but sadly he had to close the doors last year... Had them mount the new one and balance and do all new stems while there. Prolly gonna replace one more before winter and put those newer ones on the back... And then have the one I take off put on one of the extra 10 holes I have for a full size spare.

I hate flats...my last one was right by the walt Whitman bridge in Philly during evening rush hour with my grandson taking him to his baseball game.. best part about it is they have a free bridge service ..and they had a better jack than mine...shweet. Glad the tire is ok
