Some upgrades for the Focus!
Over the past couple weeks, I installed a set of Crane stg 1 cams and a Cosworth short runner intake manifold. It's on a canned tune for the manifold right now and is pig rich but safe. It pulls great as it is, even at 10.2:1 AFR and only 12* of spark. We'll be dialing the tune in over the next couple of weeks, hit up the dyno, and hopefully hit up the track before the season ends.
Old #s were 230whp/215wtq @ 11psi with the stock manifold and stock cams. With the Cosworth manifold and stg 1 cams, I'm looking for 280whp/220wtq @ 12psi and 300whp/240wtq @ 14psi. The new 1/4 mile goal will be 12.5-12.3 @ 108-110mph.
This is still with the stock cast pistons, rods, and crank with stock bearings turning the motor out to 7500rpm.

Well... it snapped the timing chain Sunday night and I had to be towed home. Getting a new timing chain, tensioner, and guides on it this weekend/next week. Let's just hope the pistons didn't hit the valves.

Well... the pistons hit the valves. The exhaust valves on cylinder #1 are bent. The piston seems fine from what we can tell but won't know for sure until we take the head off. I'm looking at the Ford Racing Duratec 2.3L head with porting for 15% more flow, stiffer valve springs, and a 3-angle vavle job. It's a done and complete head for $880 + shipping and flows amazing. I will be putting that in with ARP head studs and a cometic .018" head gasket. I will definitely be at 300whp or more with that head and minimal boost.
