Spring Upgrades, Round 2
Installed a bunch of stuff on the Fox again Saturday! A lot of it was because these parts have not been touched since I bought the car 5 years ago and also in part to try to mitigate a lot of my vibration issues.
Did it at the DIY shop in PA again
Old rear drum setup
New rear shoes... It was my first time messing with drums and it was a lot easier than I had thought
So I noticed that on my driver side rear drum, this eyehook and wire piece is missing
New rear springs upper and lower prothane isolators (before, there were no lowers so it was just metal on metal)
Old front setup... There was a lot of play in the rotor, so that told me the wheel bearings had to be changed
New OE replacement rotors
Comparison.. the old rotors surfaces' were not smooth whatsoever
New rotors, installed, with no play in the rotor. Bearing install was again much easier than I had originally thought
Spindle shot... Lower ball joints were tested for play and there existed none so good on that!
Old brakes.... down to the rivets
New Hawk HPS front brake pads
I also put my o/r h pipe back on the car, and hopefully fixed an oil leak at the supercharger/oil pressure sending unit T splitter
Does anyone know which strut tower braces will fit a Trickflow intake and vortech S/C?

Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
I didnt know they made that in a 4 lug, the V8 II had an 8 inch 4 lug, well back to the drawling board
Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
Just so you know if you need any wheel mods, Bolt pattern, Changing offsets (Back pad shaving or spacers/adapters) I can help you fit it. I do it at work for all the rim shops in Baltimore. Im just saying if you find a rear that works and the hub is different from what you need let me know.

Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
Thanks I'll keep that in mind, I'm looking for a V8 Granada, they have exactly what I need, and the axle housing bolts rite into a Mustang II, so if anyone hears of one, or sees one in a junk yard, let me know, even if its a 6er, they may have the same rearrgoddard wrote:Just so you know if you need any wheel mods, Bolt pattern, Changing offsets (Back pad shaving or spacers/adapters) I can help you fit it. Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
I took my car out Monday at hwy speeds and it seems like a lot of the vibrations from the front have been mitigated... but now that those are gone I csn hear the vibrations from the rear more now. And it sounds like it all from the gears.. ((
Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
So you think you need new Gears?

Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
I really hope not. I don't hear any of it while going from 1st to 4th. It's cruising in 5th when I hear it. I hear whine on deceleration and when I go from no acceleration to a slight tap on the pedal, I can hear and feel the gears engaging and disengaging.Dominican7 wrote:So you think you need new Gears?

Re: Spring Upgrades, Round 2
You may just be out of adjustment on your backlash, probably more of an annoyance then a problem, but I would check that first and of course as long as it’s all open you can see if the gears are actually wornRTW0223 wrote:I really hope not. Actually I meant the time The Clutch Queen AKA Bethel blew her clutch out doing a burnout in OC, you see these are the things you miss when you don’t go to OC Cruisin weekend
