RIP Cobra
Well my friend took his car to a shop and the head gasket is dead. The engine basically has cooked itself with over heating...The cost of repair or even engine replacement is more then what the car is worth, I feel bad for my friend since he just spent about 6k in repairs trying to get it ready for OC in May. Needless to say he's now looking for another mustang. If anyone has any leads on a 03 or 04 SVT Cobra "Terminator" please let me know so I can pass on the info. I've been checking autotrader.com and cars.com

Re: RIP Cobra
The termi cars are coming down in price and are a lot more accessible now. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find one. A few months ago I saw one for 26K it had 23K miles on it and the pulley swap and tune was already done. What is his price range?

Re: RIP Cobra
Honestly I wasn't told so I'm going to put 20k to be safe. I found a few that are in the high teens which isn't bad. I feel bad for him since he's only really driven the car maybe 25,000 miles in the 3.5 years he had the car

Re: RIP Cobra
the issues were thermostat stuck shut, a crappy coolant bleed that left a massive air bubble in the system, a now bad head gasket. The guy that did the work never check the thermostat during the rebuild, didn't do a proper coolant bleed. At this point engine has cooked itself. My friend has decided that he's probably going to part out the car or trade it in or whatever for a 2012 GT
