Drag wheels/tires Empty Drag wheels/tires

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to buy a set of drag wheels or wheels in general and drag tires. I was thinking of going for a set of 15x10" wheels. I figured it might be about time to get a set of true drag tires. While the stock wheels aren't wide I was wondering if 255 tires would be worth going for

There are a lot of options, and it really depends how serious you are about drag racing.  A cheap American Muscle Bullitt wheel in a 17x9 with Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials in 275/40r17 will work fine while you get your feet wet.  I used this combo and got my 2005 GT down into the high 12s/low 13s more or less consistently with this setup (I used my street tires up front pumped up to 40lbs to minimize resistance).  That's about as cheap as you can get, AND you can drive to the track on this set!  Dedicated lightweight wheels and ET Streets or slicks will cost significantly more, like well over a grand, and without the appropriate mods (swaybar relocation kit for 15" wheels, front swaybar removed, adjustable struts and shocks, etc) won't get you that much further.

Thank you, I wasn't sure about that. I was thinking I had to go with the 15" wheel and would be able to easily go from the 15" wheel/tire combo back to my 18" wheel/tire combo

You definitely want a 275 tire minimum and id recommend the MT et streets or MT ET street radials.  You can get a pair of rear rims on the corral.  Drag tires definitely help Smile
