Re: Emissions
Don't see why it would. Basically substituting one air filter housing for another right? Shoot, w/ all the crap I've put on my car over the years, all I have to do is slap on the converters and she goes right through.

Re: Emissions
If it's '98 up, they'll just plug into the OBDII port, won't even know you've changed anything.Big Mike226 wrote:Was wondering I bought CAI from Bamatunes are there problems with them going thru emissions

Re: Emissions
I was reallly thinking about the tune doesnt his tunes turn off 02 sensor and if so could I go thru emissions with the CAI I get from him and put the stock tune to car just to go thru emissions

Re: Emissions
If the race tunes do turn of the O2s, I would think that would light the mil, and you can't pass emmissions with that lit. So I can't say which tune might cause any issues, but here's a few threads from people using them, they might know:

Re: Emissions
If you CAI came with a handheld scanner and you're using a custom tune, there are two POTENTIAL problems:
1. The flag for the emission monitors is inadvertantly set to "off" in the custom tune. If this has occurred, then none of the emission tests run, the values don't get stored, and you'll fail. I can't quite remember but I think the variable is called "P1000". This happened to me and I had to go back to my tuner shop and get them to flip it back on. I drove 50 miles, went to the emissions station, and passed fine.
2. if the o2 sensors are turned off, this MAY cause a failure that the OBD scan picks up. It seems to vary quite a bit though.
If you just have the Cold Air Intake and it does NOT require a retune with a handheld tuner like an SCT XCAL, then you're not likely to have any problems.
