SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
MPSF,
On behalf of the Somd Mustang Club, I want to personally invite the Patriots Stangs (that is a great name, btw) to our New Year's Day Cruise and dinner. We have plans to start in Upper Marlboro @ around 1200 and cruise 301 down across the bridge and onto Port Royal before taking US 17 south to Tappahannook for a dinner (I can't recall the place there right now but a member has called and set it up, so we know their open). There will be a stop @ Twin Kiss in La Plata and probably the Sheetz just over the bridge in VA.
If there's interest, some of us have no problem coming up to Bowie/Crofton to hook up with some of you and cruise on down. Just post here so your fellow club mates know your coming.
Rain day will be Saturday, 1/3/09.
We'd love to have ya. No better way to bring in the new year than with a Mustang (well, maybe something else buy ya'll deleted that thread... )
Pm me with any questions,
Tom

Any of you have contacts with other clubs, feel free to invite them, too. The more the merrier. I think John's gonna invite his NVA buds.

Thanks Nate! Interested in hearing what the Pypes mid muffler system sounds like from inside the car.

MPSF,
Details of the New Year's Cruise are now posted on our homepage.
www.somdmustang.org
Here's the lowdown:
We will be meeting at the Wawa, at the intersection of US301 South and McKendree Rd in Mattawoman (North Waldorf), Maryland at 11:00am and departing a short time later. We will traval US301 South to the Wawa in La Plata, across from Wal-Mart and depart at or just after Noon. Then it's on to Virginia with a stop for photo's just beyond the bridge. Then back to the cruise with a left onto VA205 through Colonial Beach with a short stop near George Washington's Birthplace. Back onto VA205 to a left onto VA3 through Warsaw, Virginia. Then a right onto US 360, across the river and then a left onto US 17 south and to Lowry's in Tappahannook for dinner. All are invited, of course.
I hope some of you can make it.
Tom

Re: SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
I am not real familiar with the area, only been living here a few months, but how close will the cruise be coming to the Woodbridge, VA area? I am about 15min from Mount Vernon.

Re: SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
It would take you about 30 mins to get to the 1st Wawa in normal traffic. Up 95 over to MD and the MD 5 south (second MD exit, I think, off the beltway?) to US 301, which you will merge into before the Wawa.
Re: SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
I work at Andrews so i am familiar with most of that route. What i'm wondering is if any of the cruise will coming back towards Woodbrigde. I would like to join you all but would have to leave before the dinner so if its going to swing back towards my home i may come out for part of it. Thank you

Re: SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
Meeting us there in MD, is just about as close as heading south for you and with traffic in Fredericksburg the way it is probably quicker, too. To get back to Woodbridge from Tappahannook, you'd take US 17 north the whole way to I-95. Maybe 40-50 miles total. If you meet us and come across the bridge with us then you can take US 301 to VA 3 to Fredericksberg to I95 then back home.
Re: SMMC New Year's Day Cruise, 1/1/09
Alright, thank you very much. Thats alot farther than i thought it would be. I probably wont make it. Appreciate the invite though

I won't be able to make it this year as my son and my g/f will be over. Thanks for the invite! I also posted this on the NVMC site, but only 1 person replied and it was questionable as far as his attendance. I hope you all have a great time and look forward to hearing about it as well as pics.
