Mustang clubs... Please explain...
Ok.
we have established that I am new here.
We have established that I am an "alien" and have a funny accent.
We have also established that I am/was ignorant to many things in this great land.
To get this straight, I think I will fit in around here just fine <-- because I drive like this too! I also joined the MCOM as I figured you can't get too much of a good thing, right?
Well today, I browsing crap on the internet like I usually do (no today was not porn day) and anyhow, I stumble across the Southern Maryland Mustang Club.... then I find All American Mustangs.... Mid-Atlantic Mustangs..... and by this stage I'm feeling a bit
SO, who can explain the relationship between and existence of so many Mustang clubs within close proximity? It seems that I find a new one nearly every other day!

Re: Mustang clubs... Please explain...
Well Pete to add to your confusion I and some others here are members of other clubs, based on where we live. Example I live in northern Virginia and am a member of the northern virginia mustang club, work in Bethesda Maryland so I'm a member of maryland patriots, as well as mid-atlantic domestics, I'm also on MCOM but infrequently. (Bob is here anyway) check out www.northernvirginiamustangclub.com and www.mad-crew-forum.com I think you will like the people and they also do lots of fun events, cruises... I'm Lone Star everywhere else but here. Hope this helps. James

Re: Mustang clubs... Please explain...
Sometimes different clubs have different agendas. In warmer weather, there is NO BETTER club for cruising together than the Maryland Patriots. This group goes places. Other clubs like their car shows, others sponsor drag days at local drag strips, others (and I'm not kidding) just talk about their cars and don't seem to drive them much. In general the clubs cater to different crowds. This crowd, well is a bit but we're all in a good company!

And everytime I log on here, I see that SWEEEEET looking white GT/CS and drool like a crazed little puppy because I left my speed machine back home in Australia and again

Well, that is good to know... and as I said, I really think I'll fit in (or be another misfit) around here
I've been in car clubs before, done my committee time etc... and now I just like to drive the damn car and do fun stuff. So what happened to the Jan meet up anyhow?

Re: Mustang clubs... Please explain...
The suggested day/time ended up being a football playoff day/time, and folks had already set aside time elsewhere. Doesn't mean we can't try for next weekend, or the weekend after next....Greene Turtle, Mt. Airy, off I70...
Re: Mustang clubs... Please explain...
Pete, like John said this is a special group, and we all are a bit wacky (understatement LOL) but all enjoy driving our stangs, having the time of our lives and enjoying friendships and many many laughs!

And some of us BTW dont have stangs. Like me. I did. Horrid accident and she was lost. So now I drive a 83 RX7. conejo172 calls it the weedwacker. Others call it a lawnmower or a plane. But its in good fun(they know that it can smoke there stangs) so they bring it down:)

Re: Mustang clubs... Please explain...
The main difference is we are all crazy and like to do things a little differnt then others. While some call us the misfits, I consider us a family. One day we will be playing duckpins, on a cruise or at a disturbed concert. We are not stuck up and even allow people who ride harleys or rx7s post here .
All in all we don't police anything here, because we don't need to. We look out for each other and I think I have wrenched on half the members cars before .
Its different and that's the way I like it

Oh please You're not Alice and this sure ain't no Wonderland deary. You're just as much a "nutball" as the rest of us. Of course some of us have our papers stating that, but all of the voices in my head agree we'd all be sharing a room at the funny farm.Bethelism wrote:Oh dear.
