URGENT: No Front Tag Hearing in MD

Posting this from Brian BCP Facebook page...

I plan on supporting this hearing. To not have a front plate would be awesome!

I support it too, even though I live in Virginia. Wish I didnt have to have a front bug catcher.

Dude, I'm actually off that day. Is anyone planning on going to Annapolis?

I hope this goes though, but its going to be a hard sell do to all the speed cams, red light cams and now new ICC cameras.

Most of those camera's only catch the rear tags anyways.

Ya got that one right. I have a folder full of such photos from my guys in my company vans.

Damn that reminds me I have to pay one of those damn speed camera tickets i got on I95 (IN MARYLAND)

testify??? against what?? that it makes your car look ugly?? lol good luck at getting that bill through, even though I'd be in favor...but hey WV only uses rear tag as it is now..as for MD..good luck

I work for the government and can tell you the main thing they look at is money and safety.

1. Save money,
-It would save by not spending on materials (Labor is free since the inmates do them)


2. Lose income,
-No more income from fines for no front tag.
-You have to be closer to be picked up on radar. (When running lazer or radar you can pick up a car a lot sooner when they have a front tag)
-You have to pay $25 for a replacment when you lose the front tag. Cost of tag $5 profit +$20 to the state.

Ones that they dont matter to the state,
-Your car needs the air flow
-Its ugly

Bottom line....not goona happen

So I didn't make it to the actual hearing, but I did send in my email. Anyone else? Any news yet?

OK so whats the outcome

reguardless of the out come the law wont change until october 1st. but i hope they change it because i dont have a front tag on my car anyway

apparently MD is getting rid of them. A friend of mine works for the state police now and told me.

When can we get rid of them

it would be a shame to put a tag on your new front end!

I guess ill continue to pay the fine till then. Im not running screws into my bumper. I never thought it would go through. Guess I was wrong.

I know my now bumper will look much better without the tag

Has anyone heard anything on this subject? Its been awhile since we've talked about it.
