Sold 2010 Camaro
New Guy! Sold my 2010 RS Camaro for a GT Premium Rag Top. This is mainly the wife's weekend car but I will be modding soon. Looking at gears and CAI 1st. Not sure where to start my 1st question is what size gear can I install in a automatic? My preference is a manual but like I said this is the wife's weekend driver. I had 3.73 in my Camaro and I loved them. What would anyone recommend?

Welcome to the monkey house!
What year do you have? What gears are in there now?

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
Yeah, I think they changed the gearing with the coyote.. Plus depending on what packages you got on it. My 10' has 3.31's with the auto. I think you might have 3.15 or something weird like that...

Welcome to the jungle! Congrats on the new ride. 4.10's would be perfect for the auto. But certainly can't go wrong with 3.73 either. BobT does installs, send him a PM for pricing

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
I have 4.10's in my 05 GT with supercharger and Tremec 3650 5-speed manual. It is crazy aggressive but fun.
How much highway driving and how many miles will the 'Stang be getting?

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
Dunno if they did anything different in the 'vert. I believe I saw on S197 or Mustang Source the Coyote has the 3.1? gear I mentioned with the auto. I've been doing ALOT of reading up for my '10, LOL!

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
Yeah I think your correct Mach1 looks like 3.15 but why? the only thing I'm thinking is because it's a convertible and it has something to do with the structural integrity. I'm hoping I can fit in a least 3.73 if not this car sucks on take off

nothing to do with the structural integrity, has to do with CAFE regulations and passing them.
3.15 = Better fuel efficiency
3.73 =

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
Than with that said 3.73 or 4.10 its a weekend driver for the wife. I really liked the 3.73 in my manual camaro and I would like to feel the car alot more on take off sence it an automatic

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
I have heard 4.10's for auto's and 3.73's for manuals is the way to go.
Not sure about how you feel about your warranty but getting a tuner for the car really wakes them up. I recommend SCT BAMA Tuner from AmericanMuscle.com

Re: Sold 2010 Camaro
They used to do a different gear for the Fox 'Verts just because the weight differences. Wasn't sure they still did anything like that now.

I have 4.10 on my 09 GT auto and it is my daily driver. Gas mileage went down about 1-2mpgs on average.

So what is your top end? Just curious? I would think that mid power could be quite impressive when needed

The car pulls great throughout. I have no complaints. I don't have any numbers for the top end at the track so I am no use there, but when I need to pass someone on the highway it is no problem. What info did you want for the top end? Maybe I can clarify what you are looking for.
