brake pads and rotors advice
So, i'm about to replace my rear brake pads and rotors. Any brand that you guys recommend? I'm thinking about ordering these:
pads, either hawk performance ceramic or hawk HPS:

Re: brake pads and rotors advice
How do you drive it? That makes a huge difference.
If you are gentle then best price is your goal. If you track it then ultimate performance is your goal.
I have drilled and slotted for the appearance but being smooth or slotted is better. Drilled cracks too easily under extreme driving.
Also, 2/3rd of the braking is done up front the the rears are less of a concern

I have Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads on the front of my car, I really like them. Great stopping power.

Re: brake pads and rotors advice
I am gonna be up for brakes soon too. I looked at stoptech and power slot along with a few others. My question to you guys that have them what is the long term like. I really don't want any rust. Right now I have to take my current rotors off and paint the hats with black enamel to keep the from rusting. It works but not forever. After I wash my car and go to put it away the rust drips off into the wheel and I have to clean it up quickly. Anyone seeing any rust with the rotors they are using?

I have the power slots and for the most part the have zero rust however one of them is showing some signs. I guess with a dd car and all the road salt they put down in the winter it's no way to totally get around it

I have R1 Concepts rotors, drilled, coated, with Hawk racing pads. They are aggressive, stop on a dime.

Just drilled or slotted too? Prices don't seem to be bad at all

Re: brake pads and rotors advice
Just remember you can't turn slotted rotors and so it is R&R if they get warped or something like that and it is about what you are willing to pay and or replacement intervals. I guess if you have a budget like a race team then "our" opinions really don't matter. If you a moderate type and like the performance but have to save up them just get better pads and smooth rotors and then you can turn them and just R&R pads as needed......Just saying looks aren't always what it is cracked up to be.
