Re: 2011 5.0 GT
Well...
Happy about the 4v, unhappy that they would bore/stroke a 4.6 to make it a 5.0. The 4.6 is already too square of a rod/crank ratio.
However the new computer with 4v control will make it MUCH easier to mod. Especially modding to a 4v 5.4.

Re: 2011 5.0 GT
yea heard about that from my grandfasha who works for ford a few months agl.. he said it was an idea and they were still working on it
Re: 2011 5.0 GT
thats awesome but how much would it suck to buy a 2010 gt with a 4.6 only to have to 5.0 come out in 2011 like the report was saying.

Re: 2011 5.0 GT
IDK. You get the 7% aerodynamic upgrade of the new body AND all the engine parts alread manufactured with a 2010. You have more stock power with the 2011 but all new parts have to be developed for the totally new engine

Re: 2011 5.0 GT
...so '12 or '13 could be a great year to buy the GT, just to have them turn around and put out the 50th Anniv model in '14

Just be patient. 2014 isn't all that far away. Save your pennies for the Shelby model sure to blow socks off in that model year....

Re: 2011 5.0 GT
IMO if they keep making shelby's they aren't going to be worth what people pay for em. But by the the time '12 or '14 rolls around I might have to trade up.

yea but then you fall into the same trap my friends in with his I believe 95?? its the weird one that you cant find parts for. He looks all the time and theres a ton for every year but THAT one. You figure the parts makers arent gonna want to waste time making parts for a car only made one year...it wouldnt make $$ sense

Re: 2011 5.0 GT
Your friend had an old engine in a totally new frame. This 2010 will have the same frame and power of '05+ but new body panels. It shouldn't be hard at all to modify since a lot of R&D has already been done for the 281cid 3valve. It will be expensive to modify the brand new 302cid 4valve in 2011.
