I have an extra water pump in my garage. looks in decent shape. It has Ford E4ZE-8505-AA written on it. Can any one tell me anything about it? Looking online doesn't really give anything back. thanks

so, there is a chirping noise coming from my engine. It gets louder as rpms increase. I took the serpentine belt off. No noise. So the noise comes from there. Any knowledge on how to check where the chirping is coming from whether its the tensioner, water pump, or alternator?

Usually the belt itself will cause a chirping sound where the part # is stamped. Put the belt back on and spray a little silicone spray on the backside of the belt while its running and see if the noise goes away. If it does go with another belt. This is common with napa belts so I would recommend that you stay away from them. Ive had good luck with dayco and GoodYear belts. Hope this helps.

I got the belt from CJ's. the noise isnt necessarily a 'screaming'. more of a chirp... i heard taking off the belt and turning the pulleys manually would help see where the noise is coming from... would you agree?

Yes and no. If you have a chirp most of the time its the belt. A noise from a pulley would be something thats there all the time or not a consistant noise. If you spin the pulleys with the belt off they should not make much noise. If you hear a rough sound that would be a sign of a bad bearing. Remember the power steering pump, A\C and smog pump will sound different. Also, Check the tensioner. Move it back and forth. If any creeking is heard or bindiing spray some lube around the spring in the back or replace it.

why don't you do as stated above, spray the belt a little with some silicone or Pb blaster if it goes a way for a short bit, it's the belt, 90 % of the time it's the belt and the noise is transmitted through components and gives you a false diagnosis the way you just did such...just a thought............
