Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
I have an excellent condition Flowmaster Amerian Thunder Cat-back system currently on my 97 GT and want to switch it up. It has about 15K miles through it right now. I would like to either sell it outright for $250 OR trade it for some excellent condition SLP Loudmouth 2 bullet mufflers and a little cash.

why's that?
Re: Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
Because LM1's are way to raspy IMO. I like the SLP sound, but never liked the LM1's because of their overly obnoxious exhaust note. I like the redesigned LM2's with a little bit more mellow note compared to the LM1's. I think with my BBK headers, catted Bassani X, LM2's will sound sexy.

Yeah they are a bit raspy and only certain setups can make it sound really. But if youre looking for pure LOUDNESS then LM1's are the way to go. Had them on my '99 V6 and they really made heads turn... and alarms go off lol

Werd, I'm hoping my choice to go with LM2's along with my catted X-pipe will make it sound good.

In my own opinion, I love the LM1s with an X pipe. Watch this video, it is possibly one of the best sounding sn95s I have ever heard.

yes it is a sn95 cobra. im never putting LM1's on any of my heaps raspiness can stay with the vettes, camaros and trans ams. couldnt even buy SLP's for mustangs not too long ago since they catered to the GM crowd till camaros and trans ams were cut off. but to each there own

My cousin has a similar setup to mine on his 90' except he has long tubes, X pipe and flowmasters and it has alot of rumble in it that makes a little rasp, where as my setup with the H is just very bassy, some roar to it. I like it, I just think I would like the X a little more. Got a buddy whos gonna let me borrow his x pipe to try it out.

94-98 = SN95's
That Cobra was way too raspy for me. Sounds too obnoxious for my taste. I'm sticking with my catted X, and I hope that with the quieter LM2's, make it sound just the way I want it. I don't want it too loud because I have my 2 young kids that ride in my car a lot.

Or..if you really want to be technical, the 94-04 were SN-95 since they shared the same chassis. The New Edge and 94-98 SN-95 cars mostly differ in body panels, slight drivetrain changes, and slight interior changes. Of course the Cobra has a few more differences, but they still share the same chassis, which is a modified Fox chassis hence the Fox4 designation.
I agree, that 98 Cobra was a little too obnoxious for my taste, especially for a DD like mine.

Re: Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
Don't get me wrong, I love the hearty American Muscle sound of the Flowmasters, but I'm just looking to change it up some. I've always liked the sound of SLP's but someone has got me interested in the Pypes mufflers now, so I'm kind of leaning towards a pair of them.
