Re: What size wheels do you have?
I used to run 18x8.5 with 255/45 up front and 18x10 with 295/45 out back with no tire rub dropped 1.75 up front and 1.5 out back.
Now I am running 18x9 with 275/40 and 18x10 with 285/50 out back with no tire rub and is now lowered 15. front and back.
You will have no problems running 255/45 up front and 275 or 285 out back. Tirerack is a good site to see and compare what fits what size wheel and what the height and width of the tires are.

255/35/20 on a 9" and 275/35/20 on a 10", ride is rough with a lowered suspension. Could go 295 on back

Re: What size wheels do you have?
255/45-18 front 9"
275/40-18 Rear 10"
Definitely moving up in profile next time. Probably 295/45, but it is very hard to find performance tires in that size without going to suv or truck tires.
Only Tires I have found in that size were Nitto's and I did not like the old set on my daughters mustang...no wet traction at all.
Love the look of KoolDawg and Crofts rides, really fills the fenders. I just need to do a gear change with the size bump. I am planing on 4.10 which with the diameter increase should work out to about 3.73

Re: What size wheels do you have?
I have 18x9" wheels all the way around, with 275/45-18 on each corner. I like the smaller wheel and sidewall for a good combination of ride comfort and cornering. With larger wheels you start losing sidewall and cornering, although I LOVE the look. Depends what your goals are. I'm getting new wheels too (18x9, 18x10) with Nitto 555 275/40-18 up front and 285/40-18 out back...
